Importing a Benchmark into Telemet Orion (version 8)

1) [From your Telemet Manager window] Click FunctionsàAdd-In-ConsoleàPortfolio Accounts… the following window will open:

2) Click “Benchmarks” on the left side of the screen:

3) Click “New…” and the following window will appear:

-Choose “Model Portfolio” if a portfolio that contains transactions is wanted as the benchmark – such as a Advent Axys cli file.

-Choose “Text – Delimited” if a file is in a delimited format, such as a csv or tab delimited file, contains the Benchmark data.

-Choose “Telemet Ticker List” if the data is currently viewable as a Telemet Ticker List.

Ø      If “Model Portfolio” is chosen please read below, otherwise skip to the next section:

o       The following screen will appear:

-Any name can be entered for the Benchmark

-Portfolio is used to select which account (cli file if Advent Axys is used) is wanted as the Benchmark.

-Click “Finish” and a account will be available as a Benchmark.

Ø      If “Text – Delimited” is chosen, please read below, otherwise skip to the next section:

o       The following screen will appear:

-Name:  any name for the Benchmark can be entered.

-URL:  Enter the path (location) of the delimited file.  The 3 blue dots to the right side of the window can be used to browse to a location.

-Delimiter:  Choose what type of Delimiter is used on the file.  If “Other” is selected, enter the delimiter type in the “Other” area.

-Start import at:  Enter the row that the data begins on.  This box is used to skip rows that contain column headers, ect.

o       Click “Next” to get the following window:

-Select the box to the left of the word “Symbol” then use the up / down areas to modify the position of the location of the symbols column.  1=column 1, 2=column 2, ect.

-If the file has a Quantity (shares) column, select the box to the left of the word “Quantity” then use the up / down areas to modify the position of the location of the quantity column.  1=column 1, 2=column 2, ect.

-If the file has a Weights column, select the box to the left of the word “Weights” then use the up / down areas to modify the position of the location of the weights column.  1=column 1, 2=column 2, ect.

o       Click “Next” to get the following window:

-Clicking “Preview…” is not required.

-Click “Finish” and the import of a delimited file will be complete!

If “Telemet Ticker List” is chosen, the following screen will appear:

-Any name can be entered for the Benchmark.

-Using the “URL” drop down menu to select the Telemet list you would like to become a benchmark.

-Click “Finish” to complete the Benchmark creation process.
